BREAKING: Dodgers Hire Bob Geren As Bench Coach
There has been some speculation on what Dave Roberts’ coaching team might look like and Wednesday morning, we got our first bit of actual news on that front.
The Dodgers have pegged Bob Geren as their next bench coach, a position he most recently held with the New York Mets, helping them reach the World Series.

Many thought Gabe Kapler would make sense in this role, given his popularity throughout the front office and his understanding of the Dodgers’ youth, which might have to play a legitimate role in the near future.
Dylan Hernandez confirmed Rosenthal’s report, which is always ideal when reporting these kinds of things.

Geren interviewed for the managerial position earlier this offseason and must have been impressed with the Dodgers organization to leave his post in New York for the exact same role in Los Angeles.
The news is finally starting to speed up, which is obviously vastly more exciting than the endless rumors that have dominated the “news” thus far.
