Dodgers News: AM570 Interviews Skipper Dave Roberts

Am570’s Bill Reiter and Leeann Tweeden caught up with manager Dave Roberts on Friday and really asked him about every topic that Dodger fans have had in their minds. The interview covered everything including Kershaw’s timetable, Corey Seager’s greatness, his experience as manager, and more!

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights!



When asked about Kershaw’s return:

Kersh threw a bullpen a couple days ago over the All-Star break. He’s responded well to treatment and had an epidural ten days ago, something like that. He is going to throw to light-hitters on Saturday at the ballpark. If he comes out of that okay which we’re expecting, he should be ready to go sometime here in the near future.

Dodgers Vs. Giants: Comparing the Infield and Outfield When asked about the need for action at the trade deadline:

I think for us is our focus is on the guys we have and I think that sometimes teams get caught up too much into looking at players that you don’t have or that you want to acquire and it takes your focus away from winning baseball games.

If something does transpire then it does and we’ll be better for it but if not then we expect to win with the guys we have.

When asked to put Corey Seager’s talent into perspective:

As a baseball fan, where the game is now and where you want to see the game, he’s apart of the solution.

When asked how his first year as manager has gone:

I think the relationships that I’ve built with the coaches and the players has been the most gratifying part of it.

When asked about the state of the bullpen:

Our guys are open and have been open to pitching whenever I call on ’em. And I think that that’s the number one thing and that allows me and Rick Honeycutt to figure out what’s the position to have these guys have success,
