Dodgers Set New Home Attendance Record

The Los Angeles Dodgers have added another record to their long list of accomplishments throughout the 2019 regular season.

This one goes out to the fans. Dodgers fans consistently provided their support as the team fought their way to their eighth straight NL West division title.

Dodgers Impressive at Home All Season

The Dodgers home record this year speaks for itself. The team went 58-21 at Chavez Ravine while merely posting a 41-34 away record.

On top of that, they provided a multitude of memorable moments for fans to walk away with.

Remember that weekend in June when they beat the Colorado Rockies on three-straight walk-offs from rookies Matt Beaty, Alex Verdugo, and Will Smith? Or what about the time Walker Buehler pitched a complete game shutout with 16 strikeouts on August 3rd? Dare I even mention one of Cody Bellinger’s spectacular moments on either side of the ball?

Home Field Advantage Likely Crucial in Playoffs

Manager Dave Roberts has been adamant that while they would like home-field advantage throughout the 2019 postseason, they’re not too concerned about where they end up at the end of the regular season.

Still, the Dodgers’ displayed comfortability at home and unprecedented fan support couldn’t hurt as they attempt to finally catch the World Series title for the first time in over three decades.

The team currently sits a half-game behind the New York Yankees and two games behind the Houston Astros for the best record in the MLB.

With only eight games remaining in the season, the Dodgers have just a short amount of time to close that gap and earn home-field advantage throughout October.

I’m currently a junior at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, and I have a passion for sports journalism. I grew up in the LA area and am a diehard fan of the Dodgers, Lakers, Rams, UCLA, Kings. My favorite Dodgers memory was watching Kershaw tear up after the team won the 2017 NLCS and advanced to the World Series for the first time in his career. After college, I plan on either pursuing a career as a sports journalist or working in sports law.

  1. Well , blew Game vs Rays thanks to Jansen. This bullpen still scares me plus Kershaw more hittable, Ryu hit a slump for a short while and hill always hurt ..
