Recap: McCarthy Strikes Out 8 and Two Homers in 4-1 Victory Over Rockies!

SWEEP!!! What a successful series this has been for both the pitching staff and the bats! Friday kicked it off with 5 great innings from Norris and 5 runs from the offense. On Saturday, Kazmir went 6 and struck out 10 and the offense put up 6 runs.

Sunday’s game was no different. We welcomed back Brandon McCarthy and he put on quite the show going 5 and striking out 8. The offense also welcomed him by putting up 4 runs with two homers! Let’s take a look at the highlights!

The game kicked off with a Cuban Festival!

Welcome back, Brandon!

Rookie sensation extended his hitting streak in the bottom of the first to 16 games!

The game was quiet until the bottom of the 2nd when Thompson hit a solo shot to center, McCarthy an RBI walk, and red hot Turner an RBI single!

McCarthy would be pulled after 5 giving up 0 runs and striking out 8!

Both team’s bats would wake up in the seventh, the Rockies leading it off with a solo shot off the bat of Descalso.

The Dodgers would answer in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a solo shot by Grandal!

While Jansen was closing things out in the top of the ninth, several animal rights activists hopped over the fences and ran around the field!

But of course, Jansen would finish the job when the chaos was settled and the Dodgers sweep the Rockies!

The Dodgers will welcome the Orioles to town on Monday with the game starting at 6:10 PM PST! Follow us on Twitter to receive the play by play @DodgersNation! Go Blue!
