Joe Wieland entered the game in the bottom of the fourth for the Dodgers. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed two baserunners on a single and a walk, but managed to strike out the side to keep the Rangers at bay.

Turner led off the top of the fifth by hitting the Dodgers’ fifth home run of the game, a solo shot to right-center, to make the score 10-4 in favor of the Dodgers. Wieland remained in the game in the bottom of the fifth and dominated again, allowing only a one-out single before retiring the next two Rangers.

After Rangers reliever Ross Wolf retired the Dodgers in order in the top of the sixth, which was his second inning of work, Wieland took the mound in the sixth, however he did fare as well as in the two previous innings.

Adam Rosales hit a leadoff double and took third base on a ground out. Wieland’s wild pitch allowed Rosales to score, which cut the Dodgers’ lead to 10-5. After walking the next batter, Wieland retired the next two to end the inning.

The Dodgers had two runners reach base on singles in the seventh, but were unable to capitalize as Carson hit into an inning-ending double play. Paco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless frame in the bottom of the seventh to keep the Dodgers ahead, 10-5.

Nate Samson and Shawn Zarraga led off the eighth inning with back-to-back singles that left runners on the corners with no outs. Alex Guerrero bounced into a fielder’s choice that scored Samson and the Dodgers led 11-5 headed to the bottom of the eighth.

Daniel Coulombe threw a scoreless eighth inning and Pedro Baez gave up a run on a two-out RBI double in the ninth before finishing out the Dodgers’ 11-6 win.
