The Milwaukee Brewers appear to be altering their expected pitching plans for Games 3 and 4 of the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

While left-hander Jose Quintana thought he would be pitching bulk innings in Thursday’s Game 3, it now seems that hard-throwing right-hander Jacob Misiorowski will take on that role, with Quintana pitching in Game 4.

The Dodgers’ lineup, with Max Muncy batting seventh, seemed to be set up to face a left-hander. However, Misiorowski — who dominated the Dodgers earlier this season — will likely follow the left-handed opener Aaron Ashby.

The Dodgers faced Misiorowski in July in just his fifth career MLB start. He pitched six innings, allowing one earned run with 12 strikeouts in a dominant showing.

As for Quintana, it appears he’ll be set to pitch the bulk of the game on Friday. He spoke on Wednesday’s off-day, saying he expected to pitch in Thursday’s Game 3.

“Well, I expect to pitch tomorrow. I don’t know what kind of role,” Quintana said Wednesday. “But last two games, I’ve just been prepared for whatever role the team needs me out there. Yeah, let’s see tomorrow how is going to be my role.

“The team hasn’t decide yet what it’s going to be, but for me, I just want to be ready.”
