Brusdar Graterol Has Surgery, Will Miss at Least First Half of Dodgers’ 2025 Season
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Friday that right-handed pitcher Brusdar Graterol underwent right labrum surgery on Nov. 14 performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
He is expected to return during the second half of the 2025 season.

Graterol missed a majority of the 2024 season dealing with a handful of injures. Graterol was out for the first 113 games of the season due to a shoulder issue that popped up during spring training. Then, Graterol finally made his return on Aug. 6, only to suffer a right hamstring strain in his season debut. He would miss another month.
Graterol returned in September and appeared in six games. Then, he was placed on the injured list for a third time, this time for shoulder inflammation.
Graterol was able to return for the Dodgers in the World Series, where he made three appearances, allowing one earned run. Graterol helped the Dodgers take down the New York Yankees in the World Series, and now has undergone surgery just a few weeks later to get his shoulder issue sorted out once and for all.
Graterol appeared in just seven games in 2024, but had a career-best season in 2023, sporting a 1.20 ERA in 68 appearances. Graterol will now miss a big chunk of the 2025 season, leaving a big hole in the Dodgers’ bullpen the team will have to address this offseason.
Graterol is arbitration eligible for the next few years until he hits free agency in 2027.
