Brusdar Graterol Sends Message to Dodgers Fans After Disappointing 2026 Season

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed reliever Brusdar Graterol confirmed that he will not be returning this season as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery

Graterol posted a message to Dodger fans on social media after trying to work his way back this season, but ultimately falling short of his goal.

“I’d like to tell all my Dodgers fanbase that I would have liked to be in the postseason but my rehabilitation hasn’t been easy, so I’ve already changed my mindset for 2026,” Graterol wrote in a post translated to English. “Thanks to everyone for always being attentive, I love you Dodgers fans.”

Graterol has had a trying last two years, dealing with numerous injuries that have allowed him to play in just 10 total games (regular season and postseason) since the start of the 2024 season.

Graterol didn’t pitch in 2024 until August after dealing with a shoulder injury, and returned for one game in which he suffered a hamstring strain that sidelined him for another month. He then made six appearances in September before dealing with shoulder inflammation that sidelined him until the World Series.

He made three World Series appearances and then underwent labrum surgery in the offseason. He attempted to work his way back all year, but unfortunately, wasn’t able to get over the hump and will now be out until 2026.

In Graterol’s last full season in 2023, he made 68 appearances, sporting a 1.20 ERA across 67.1 innings pitched. He’s been with the Dodgers since 2020 after being involved in the trade that sent Kenta Maeda to the Minnesota Twins.

Across five seasons with LA, Graterol has made 178 regular season appearances, sporting a 2.69 ERA with 11 saves across 181 innings. He’s also made 24 appearances in the postseason, sporting a minuscule 1.93 ERA with one save across 23.1 innings.
