Cody Bellinger Returns to Face the Dodgers in LA, How Will Fans React?

Cody Bellinger was a Dodger for six years. Over that time, he put together some of the best single seasons in Dodgers history while helping power the franchise through one of its most successful runs of dominance in its 140 year existence.

Now Cody Bellinger is a Chicago Cub… and he returns to Dodger Stadium for the first time since leaving LA tonight. How will Dodgers fans welcome him? We asked true blue faithful on Twitter.

The majority of fans agree that it will be a hero’s welcome at Chavez Ravine tonight. I really hope the pitch clock doesn’t take away from the moment because it very well could.

In reality, Cody deserves a long, loud ovation in his return to LA. If the Dodgers were to play “Hotel California” — as a fan suggested above — that would be goosebump city.

There is, of course, the small chance that fans could be negative in their reactions after the last few years of struggle for Belli and his seeming unwillingness to change or adjust his approach.

But same as this fan below, it would be upsetting to hear one boo for Cody.

Cody Bellinger left the Dodgers as a former Rookie of the Year, an MVP, a two-time All-Star, and a World Series champion. It’s going to be a warm and emotional welcome for the Dodger legend.
