Dodgers: Adrián González to Represent LA in HR Derby Event
Major League Baseball is doing what they can to grow the game when they’re not in the middle of a lockout. This year, they’re doing that by quite literally taking the show on the road, and the Dodgers will have some representation in this new event.
The new event will be held in London, Seoul, and Mexico City throughout the course of the 2022 season. It will feature participants from the Dodgers, Yankees, Cubs, and Red Sox will be there. Those teams will have 4 ‘players’ each, including former players and even a content creator.
The Dodgers will be represented by Adrian Gonzalez, who also joined the broadcast and analyst crew for the team this season.
“Inspired by the success and simplicity of the Home Run Derby the day before the MLB All-Star Game, Home Run Derby X has been developed with the goal of attracting a new audience to baseball; creating high-energy live event experiences and opportunities for digital storytelling.”

Gonzo came to the Dodgers in a blockbuster trade during the 2012 season and immediately made an impact. By the time his career in Los Angeles was finished, Adrian had collected 101 homeruns, one Silver Slugger, one Gold Glove award, and an All-Star nod.
