Dodgers: Big Trades Land Them Back at the Top of the MLB Power Rankings
It was a big week for the Dodgers and their fanbase. They went from worrying about who was going to start games for them down the stretch to wondering where an All-Star like Trea Turner was going to fit into the lineup. It’s a great problem to have.
The trade that landed them Max Scherzer and Trea Turner seems to have solved several problems for them, including pitching. That trade not only gave the team a bit of a morale boost but also a boost in the Power Rankings.
In the latest MLB Power Ranking update, the Dodgers jumped up to the top spot from number 3 the week before. All eyes will be on them this week as they host the Houston Astros at home and have Scherzer making his debut on Wednesday.

The Dodgers are still chasing the Giants by 3.5 games in the NL West heading into Tuesday’s games. But San Francisco’s starters have started to regress over the last month or so, and the door appears to be opening for LA to make the jump.
They’ll have a tough assignment with the Astros for 2 games, but playing the Angels over the weekend should help. The Giants have to face off against the first-place Brewers over the weekend and that could be a great chance for the Dodgers to gain some ground. Unfortuantely, San Francisco is playing the DBacks this week.
