Dodgers: Catching Up With Play-By-Play Man Joe Davis

The Dodgers’ play-by-play man took the time to catch up with the Blue Heaven Podcast guys on Thursday. As it turns out, Joe is trying to fill time just like the rest of us without baseball in his life. We also talked about the new television deal that allows Direct TV to carry Dodgers games, and what that meant for him this season.

And how could we not ask the Dodgers’ most famous grillmaster about his offseason grilling? Davis goes in-depth on his favorite cuts of meat as well as his thoughts on how he thinks the 2020 Dodgers will do when baseball starts back up.

Joe Davis has been the play-by-play man in Los Angeles since 2016. Initially, he was hired on filling out games that Vin Scully did not call, mixing in with Charlie Steiner on television broadcasts. When Scully retired after the 2016 season, Davis took over the job full-time alongside Orel Hershiser.
