Dodgers’ Chris Taylor Exits Wednesday’s Game Early With Knee Injury
And just when it seemed like all was well again for the Dodgers, this happens.
Chris Taylor exited Wednesday’s game in the bottom of the first inning after grounding out and slipping on first base, though he was safe due to a bad throw. The slip looked like a lesser version of Bryce Harper’s fall. Sure enough, it turns out that Taylor injured his knee a little bit.

The slip was absolutely terrifying to watch, but luckily it seems like Taylor will be just fine. Dave Roberts told reporters after Wednesday night’s win that it’s just a bone bruise. Taylor is expected to be back in the lineup on Friday.
Chris Taylor's knee injury "more of a scare," Dave Roberts said. Initial diagnosis: Bone bruise. Expected back in lineup Friday.

Dave Roberts told reporters before Wednesday’s game that Adrian Gonzalez was shut down for the remainder of the season. Dodger fans were already dealing with that and, personally, I’m not sure if I would have been able to handle another season-ending injury. Especially one that took down Chris Taylor, who has been such an impact player this year for the Dodgers.
Chris Taylor has had an impressive 2017, putting up a slash line of .287/.354/.499 and hitting 21 home runs! He has struggled in September, with his slash line dropping to .207/.253/.359. However, struggles and all, Taylor is as valuable as any other Dodger and it would have been devastating to lose him right before October. Hopefully Taylor can bounce back and get into a groove before the postseason after a lot of icing and a day of rest!
