Dodgers: Chris Taylor Passes Juan Soto in All-Star Game Voting

The Dodgers have a few guys that arguably deserve to be in the All-Star Game in 2021. But according to Dave Roberts earlier this month, Chris Taylor should absolutely be headed to Denver this Summer.

CT3 has done everything possible to keep the Dodgers going through their injuries. He’s come up in big spots and always seems to come through in what is his best offensive season. Naturally, fans in Los Angeles are doing whatever they can to vote him in.

The latest update from MLB on voting has Taylor making a decent jump. The Dodgers utilityman is now ahead of Nationals’ superstar Juan Soto in voting with 4 percent of the votes. He now sits number 5 overall in NL outfield voting, a step up from being number 6 last week.

Passing someone like Juan Soto is a pretty big deal considering he is one of the young faces of the game right now. Taylor is slashing .266/.386/.464 with 10 homeruns through 66 games. He’s 3rd among position players in bWAR at 2.2 just behind Mookie Betts and Max Muncy.

The top 3 vote-getters at each position on the infield and the top 9 outfielders get to move on in the voting phase. That second phase of voting will determine the starters for the All-Star Game in Colorado this Summer at Coors Field. Pitchers and reserve players will be voted in through a combination of player ballots and selections via the Commissioner’s Office.

  1. Guess who I voted for! Taylor is a run making machine too. It is really necessary to put him in the lineup where he can knock runs in. I like him in the 5 spot. He is a all-star for sure
