Dodgers: Cody Bellinger Scratched Late With Side Soreness

The aches and pains of Spring Training continue for the Dodgers as Cody Bellinger is scratched late. Manager Dave Roberts elaborated on the scratch as him dealing with side soreness that will just keep him out for a little bit. Could it have had something to do with his experience at Top Gold the night before?

Player assembled at Top Golf in Arizona for Albert Pujols’ charity event, and golf balls were indeed punished. After Mike Trout hit a ball that cleared the back netting, maybe Bellinger felt he needed to one-up him.

In regards to the soreness, Roberts says it is NOT related to his Top Golf adventures.

After watching him take those golf hacks, It sure looks like that would be the source of the soreness. As long as this is not oblique related, Bellinger should be fine moving forward. The Dodgers play in Goodyear today versus the Reds.

  1. “He’s fine,” said Roberts. “He felt a little something on his body when he was doing his early work. He wants to play, but we just feel if we give him today and the off-day tomorrow, he’ll be back in there Wednesday.”
I wonder where this type of response was seen and heard before. Roberts and Dodgers have been NOTORIOUS in the past for underestimating a player’s injury. let’s all hope he is correct because no matter what some may say, Bellinger wouild be missed if in fact this caused him to be out for a while.
