Dodgers Dave Roberts Lays Out Plan for Julio Urias and Kenta Maeda this Week
After struggling with their offense this weekend vs. the Giants, Dave Roberts breathed a sigh of relief as he saw our bats come alive and talked about it in the post-game media scrum:
“Rodriguez had our number early with his changeup!”
“We haven’t been putting hits together, so with 2 outs [it was] good to put a crooked number on the board!”

In regards to the pitching, Roberts was pleased with what he saw from Urías in the 1st and 2nd inning with his fastball, changeup and slider that resulted in 3 hits and 4 strike outs over two innings pitched. The reason for the relatively quick hook was to make sure Julio is prepared for some bullpen duties in Baltimore, where Julio talked to Alanna Rizzo about after the game:
“It’s the same thing. I’ve done it before. I’ll follow whatever game plan they have for me!” – Julio Urías
Bullpen Maeda came in and proceeded to pitch 4 strong innings where he gave up only one hit to Buster Posey, did not dish out a single walk and ended up striking out 6.
Dave Roberts said that Kenta will probably miss the entire Baltimore series to prepare for the series against the Mets at the end of the week.
