Dodgers: Dave Roberts to Miss Game One vs Phillies
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will be missing from action during game 1 of the series against the the Phillies. In his stead, bench coach Bob Geren will be at the helm.
Friday’s game against the #Phillies, will be managed by Bob Geren. Dave Roberts is attending his son Cole’s high school graduation. 5/31 also happens to be the skipper’s birthday. Happy birthday & congratulations, Cole.

As Alanna Rizzo points out, Dave will be celebrating his 47th birthday while also attending the high school graduation of his son Cole down in San Diego.
Bob Geren has been Dave Roberts’ right-hand man since 2016. Moreover, he has prior MLB managerial experience as he piloted the Oakland A’s to a 334-376 record from 2007-2011.
Roberts is only expected to miss the single game.
I’m going off on a different subject matter. The Dodgers hit 4-homeruns last night. Does anybody out there know what is the Dodgers record this year is when the team hits a one homerun in a game? I’m going to guess their record when they hit 4-homeruns is excellent i.e. close to undefeated? I know they have won games without hitting a homerun, the other night 2-0 over the Mets.
If only he had more kids graduating, like a 162 plus a few more during the post season.
