Dodgers: Does Walker Buehler’s Injury Mean a Big Contract for Julio Urias?

In this week’s Roundtable, the panel features Clint, Doug, and Eric this week to discuss the latest in Dodgers Nation and on the MLB news front. First up, thoughts on Walker Buehler’s injury and what it means for the 2023 starting rotation and Julio Urias’ future with the Dodgers. Plus thoughts on Chris Taylor’s struggles and Angels’ owner Arte Moreno finally, mercifully planning on selling the team.

On the Buehler and Urias topic, for a while, it’s felt like a foregone conclusion that the Dodgers would give the bag to Walker as he tracks closer to free agency. But with Tommy John surgery now keeping him out until 2024 at best, the wonder is if the front office pivots to lock up Julio long term first. Certainly, these boys in blue would be lost without the budding ace left-hander at the top of the rotation this year.

Next, our Angels’ thoughts are pretty universal: get Arte out and let the organization begin to heal. But the big question is, how does a competent Angles team affect the Dodgers’ market share as a whole?

Finally, utility man CT3 is riding the struggle bus hard… we look at his issues at the plate and wonder if Trayce Thompson is the better option come October.
