Great game. Not just that the D’s won, which is a good thing, but most of the game was high drama. Maybe not super high, but high. 3-1 game, anytime a runner is on base there is the potential for a tie with whomever is at bat. And while he’s not my favorite, Bad Vlad Jr is a highly skilled ballplayer and hitter. Was it just me or did it seem like he was up to bat like 7 times in a 9 inning game?
Glasnow in relief? While scheduled to pitch tomorrow? Madness. But if not for a win today there is no tomorrow.
I guess Ohtani is going to start tomorrow. He’s not going to do a complete game, he’s not. And then where do they go?
My plan. Madness I know. Start Kershaw, hope for 3, take 2, push to 4 if things are looking good, THEN Ohtani. Gets the righty lefty thing going, Kershaw seems far better starting than relief, Ohtani I have no clue, but he isn’t near as far into his career as Mr K. Not sure who or where to go to if Ohtani can’t finish, but I swear I’d rather see Kike` in there than Trinen. (Sorry Blake, it’s not personal, even you know you’ve had a bad year)
If K or O get lit up early… As Cubbies fans say, wait ’til next year. I have had less confidence about this Dodgers team than any other in the WS, and my memory goes back to the ’63 series against the Yankees. (OK, that was emotional, not intellectual, but with Koufax and Drysdale only a fool would have bet against them)
Crossing my fingers for tomorrow!
