Dodgers Fans React to Loss of Cody Bellinger, Plus LA Career Highlights
Cody Bellinger will not be in a Dodger uniform next season. The former Dodgers MVP signed with the Cubs earlier this week on a one-year $17 million deal.
After L.A. non-tendered Cody back in mid-November, it was a long shot he would return and sign with the Dodgers.
Cody accomplished so much in his six years wearing the Dodger blue, and even though his past three seasons were forgettable, he still had glimpses of what we witnessed from 2017-2019.
He was a fan favorite, and fans took to Twitter to express their feelings about his departure to Chicago.
Good for Cody but this definitely feel like the best option for both parties. Wish him all the best except for when the Cubs are in town.

So long, Cody Bellinger. No #Dodgers fan will ever forget seeing those Belli-bombs; but even the best players are human and can’t stay at the top forever. Best of luck in your new digs. Now, back to the Blue Crew. Go #Dodgers! pic.twitter.com/VqQAa3sZji

Above is our top Belli moments and career highlights in Dodger blue.
Cody will be missed at Chavez Ravine. He was one of our best home-grown prospects as we watched him grow in front of our eyes.
Belli had countless memorable plays and moments in his six years in Los Angeles. One of my all-time favorites was his extra innings catch in the bottom of the 10th in Game four of the 2018 NLCS on Lorenzo Cain. Another one of my favorites was his go-ahead winning RBI in the 2021 NLDS against the Giants in game five up in Oracle Park and his game-tying three-run home run against the Braves in game three of the 2021 NLCS.
Chicago got a good one, and we hope he can return to what he was in the first three seasons of his career.

In 2 1/2 years after his MVP year, It’s just too bad Belli couldn’t sustain some of It and turn it around after his injuries. Belli is great athlete but only if he would listen to the right hitting gurus to correct his flaws. He is still young, but he needs to understand the league will always adjust to his approach. Hope he has a good year, and maybe see him a Dodger again, although I know Boras would get the armor truck ready.
I agree. Boras would want it all from the Dodgers for them to resign Bellinger.
