Dodgers: Gavin Lux Has a Little Playful Fun at Joc Pederson’s Expense

Dodgers fans were treated to a huge moment this week when Gavin Lux came to the plate in the 8th inning with the team trailing a run. Lux launched a pitch deep into right-center field to give LA the lead and eventually the win.

That home run was huge for a lot of reasons. The Dodgers were in the middle of a dreadful losing streak, but it also just pumped energy into the dugout. That’s something that we haven’t seen in a long time.

But Lux’s celebration might have been more invigorating than the actual home run. The Dodgers infielder pounded on his chest and yelled towards the dugout as soon as the ball left his bat, and the guys in the dugout loved it.

After the game, Gavin gave his explanation of the show of emotion after the game and even took a light-hearted jab at Joc Pederson.

I don’t really know where that came from at all, to be honest with you. I think I saw Joc do it last week so I was kind of copying him, no I’m kidding. But yeah, that’s by far the most emotion I’ve shown. Just talking to some guys, we definitely need that for sure.

Joc had a similar celebration on a ball he hit in Chicago last week against the Dodgers. Unfortunately for Joc, his ball fell about 5 feet short of going out for a home run. That made for some funny looks in the dugout and from Joc.

Lux is mostly just joking around with his former Dodgers teammate, no bad blood there. It’s easy to laugh about things when your team goes on to win a game like they did on Tuesday. Let’s hope that was the shot this team needed to wake up for the rest of the year.
