Dodgers: Gavin Lux Tears Lucky Tight Pants in Winning Effort

Crack journalism involving your world champion Los Angeles Dodgers here. The boys in blue are on a nice little hot streak at the moment. Winners of 3 straight and 7 of 8, the Dodgers streak can arguably point back to one game and one moment. Gavin Lux’s huge 3-run home run against the Mariners last week.

The subplot to the homer was something you’d expect more out of former Dodger Kiké Hernandez than Lux. The current LA shortstop was wearing tight pants alongside usual tight pants fan Walker Buehler, something Gavin said he does on Buehler start days in solidarity.

Obviously, those pants quickly became known as lucky. That is until they gave their life in the line of duty a week later.

In Tuesday night’s win, Lux shared the news with SportsNet LA’s Kirsten Watson that there was a casualty in the game. In the 6th inning of that game, he tore the pants sliding into third base.

I was like, ‘Oh, man, I have to change out of the pants. I was actually a little hurt, but we’ll see what happens tomorrow with the pants. I have no clue.

Soon after tearing those pants, Lux connected on his first career grand slam.

Importantly, the pants were tight once again on Wednesday night.

LA goes with a bullpen game tonight at Dodger Stadium as they look complete the four game sweep of the snakes. Trevor Bauer gets pushed back a day to face off against the division leading Giants in San Fransisco.
