Dodgers Have Highest Percentage to Win World Series in 2026, Per Latest Report

An ESPN projection estimates the Los Angeles Dodgers have a 22.4 percent chance to win the 2026 World Series — the highest percentage of any team in MLB.

The projections gives the Dodgers a 95.3 percent chance to enter the postseason for the 14th season in a row in 2026, and their 22.4 percent chance to win the World Series is more than double the second-highest team’s odds — the Atlanta Braves with a 10.2 percent chance.

“The Dodgers’ offseason has consisted of nabbing a new closer in Edwin Diaz in free agency and then working the edges,” ESPN’s Bradford Doolittle wrote. “Now you get the feeling they are sitting back, enjoying some fine cigars, coiled like a proverbial snake waiting to strike again when the time is right.

“As it stands, L.A. projects to have the No. 2 offense and the top pitching staff, both in the rotation and the bullpen.”

The Dodgers’ signing of Diaz was a huge step forward for LA, as they struggled massively in the bullpen towards the end of the 2025 season. With his addition as well as their core of All-Stars still together, it’s no wonder why they’re still at the top of the pack according to these projections.

Following Doolittle’s assessment of the World Series champions, the Dodgers signed top free agent Kyle Tucker to a four-year, $240 million mega deal, which cemented L.A.’s lineup as arguably the best in the league.

As for the rest of the NL West, none of the Dodgers’ main competitors have anything close to the same odds to see October.

The San Diego Padres are the next closest team to the Dodgers within the division, ranking 14th in MLB with a 48.9 percent chance to make the postseason and a 2.0 percent chance to win their first World Series. Behind them, the Arizona Diamondbacks rank 17th with a 0.8 percent chance for a title, the San Francisco Giants rank 18th with a 0.6 percent chance and the Colorado Rockies finish last with a 0.0 percent chance.

With LA’s performances over the past 15 years — especially since the turn of the 2020s — it’s hard to argue they won’t find themselves in the mix for another World Series championship in the upcoming season. They’ll look to maintain their dominant streak in the NL West and the postseason as they chase their third consecutive title in 2026.

  1. I thing no change that to I know we are the strongest team in MLB and our chances of a 3 peat is very strong now with the addtion of Kyle Tucker and Diaz as our closer. We should be unstoppable to take the division once again and be the team to beat in the playoffs . I see us getting to the WS again and if we stay healthy winning it all once again.
