The Los Angeles Dodgers earned their 106th win of the 2022 season, tying a franchise record and clinched the number one seed in the NL.

Grove looked great and was in command going 5 innings, allowing only three hits, one earned run, one walk and three strikeouts on 69 pitches.

Guess Who’s Back?

Dodgers All-Star Freedie Freeman was back in the lineup and he didn’t miss a beat as he doubled to deep right center which scored the speedy Trea Turner in the first inning. Overall, Freeman went 1-3 with one run and one RBI in his first game back since Thursday.

The offense got a total of 7 hits with catcher Will Smith leading the team with two hits and one RBI as he continues to dominate the clean-up spot.

Bullpen Does Their Thing

The relief pitching was phenomenal per usual only needing two other pitching with Brusdar Graterol going one inning, allowing two hits, one strikeout and zero runs. Andre Jackson closed things out, going three innings, allowing two hits, three strikeouts and even getting his first save of the season.

Up Next

The Dodgers will have tomorrow off and play a three game series against the San Diego Padres starting on Tuesday in San Diego. Los Angeles will look to surpass their franchise win record in their upcoming series. This will be the last series against the Padres in the regular season. If things go both teams way, we may see another postseason meeting between these division rivals come October.
