Dodgers Injury News: Brusdar Graterol’s Status Uncertain

The Dodgers really need healthy bullpen arms. One look at Reyes Moronta’s performance on Monday night is proof of that. But with so many guys out, Dave Roberts has had to turn to a few unlikely heroes. That includes Evan Phillips, who has been incredible for this relief team.

But they are looking forward to getting guys like Blake Treinen and Brusdar Graterol back. Treinen has been shut down most of the season with a shoulder issue, and Graterol went down in mid-July with a shoulder issue of his own. The Dodgers really need them both healthy.

Brusdar took a step forward on Monday, playing catch in the outfield at Dodger Stadium. But the Dodgers still do not know when he will return or if he needs a rehab assignment. A few days ago, Dave Roberts had this to say about him.

“This guy is a strong, physical guy. We’re trying to be cautious with him, but I don’t see it being too long-term. It’s not going to be the Tuesday that he’s eligible to come off; I’d be shocked if that’s the case. But it shouldn’t be much longer.”

It will be interesting to see what they end up doing with Graterol. He’s a 1 inning guy, so sending him out of rehab assignment seems to be a waste of time.
