Four players — utility man Kiké Hernández, infielder Hyeseong Kim, left-handed pitcher Tanner Scott and right-handed pitcher Kirby Yates — are all heading on rehab assignments with Triple-A Oklahoma City this week. Right handed-pitcher Michael Kopech, who’s eligible to return from the 60-day injured list on Aug. 27, is already on a rehab assignment.

Here’s all the latest injury updates on LA’s key players.

Kiké Hernández Injury Update

Hernández has been out since early July with left elbow inflammation. There was initial concern Hernández wouldn’t return this year, but he now appears to be on track for a late August return as he begins his rehab assignment his week.

Hyeseong Kim Injury Update

Kim has been out since since late July with left shoulder bursitis. He’s a little behind Hernández’s recovery timeline, but could still return before the end of August as he begins his rehab assignment this week, too.

Tanner Scott Injury Update

Scott has been out since late July with an elbow injury, but will start a rehab assignment on Tuesday. He could be on track for a late August or early September return.

Kirby Yates Injury Update

Yates has also been out since late July with a back injury and will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday. He appears to be on a similar timeline to Scott, although manager Dave Roberts recently said Yates would likely be back first.

Max Muncy Injury Update

Muncy is starting to feel better from his oblique injury and is going to do some rotational work on Monday in Colorado. Manager Dave Roberts said that’ll be a good test to see how he’s recovering and when he could possibly start ramping up baseball activities.

There’s no current timetable for his return, but Roberts recently said the team doesn’t expect his injury to be season-ending.

Tommy Edman Injury Update

Edman has been dealing with an ankle injury for months, but officially went back on the injured list in early August. The Dodgers are targeting an early September return for the utility man.

  1. Yeah, but can Yates pitch well enough to stay. He sure didn’t before he got hurt (4-3 with 3 saves, but 4.31 ERA is pretty bad for a short reliever).

  2. When Muncy was hurt last year with an oblique injury for many weeks, one day he went to the Chiropractor and BANG! He was back and hitting the ball hard. Why don’t they just send him to the Chiro again and see if they can manipulate it out of him again? We need MAD MAX!!!!

  3. Muncy injures himself swinging too hard. Teoscar shoulder be traded next year to a team where he can be DH.
