Dodgers: Kenley Jansen’s Weight, Corey Seager’s Status & More From FanFest 2019
The great thing about Los Angeles Dodgers FanFest is it gave a small update on most players on the roster. Moreover, two of these keys for 2019 are Kenley Jansen and Corey Seager. Within this post we will provide an update for those who couldn’t make it to FanFest.
First, let’s start with the Dodgers’ closer; Kenley Jansen.
Kenley Jansen Comments From FanFest 2019
The most interesting tidbits of information from Jansen are that he’s feeling great. Equally important, he’s off his heart medication and has lost 25 pounds. Jansen stated that the toughest things for him to cut out of his diet were ice cream and sugar. In the tweets below, you’ll see he’s a full-go and that staying hydrated will be one of the biggest keys to his success in 2019 in terms of cardiovascular health.

Kenley Jansen said he lost 25 pounds since the end of the season. He’s down to 258, his lowest weight since 2012. Said he worked out twice a day while giving up sugar and carbs.
As for his heart, he’s a full go. He said he just needs to remain hydrated.

It’s nice to see that as we approach Spring Training, Kenley is in the best shape of his life!
Corey Seager Health Update
Corey Seager sounds like he’s ready to get back on the field. He told our SD Dodger Tim that he would be willing to play second base if the team asked – although the team has never mentioned this as a possibility. Most important, there have been no setbacks in his recovery.
Both Ken Gurnick and Bill Plunkett weighed in on some Seager information conveyed at the event.
At FanFest today, SS Corey Seager said he’s on track in recovery from elbow and hip operations and sounded cautiously optimistic he’ll be ready for the start of the season. He is throwing to 120 feet and taking ground balls, but hasn’t had live batting practice yet.

#Dodgers Corey Seager update — threw from 120 feet for first time yesterday, swinging off tee and soft toss. Expects to start hitting BP before spring training. No setbacks

Dave Roberts Comments From FanFest
The manager commented on not only the second base position; but also what the team is looking to do with Cody Bellinger. Moreover, I found it interesting that the team is in the mindset to get Bellinger the most plate appearances of any player in 2019. If you take Roberts at his word – it would seem that platooning we saw with Bellinger in 2019 will be a thing of the past.

For Cody, I expect him to log the most plate appearances this year! When he’s in the lineup, he makes us better!” – Dave Roberts pic.twitter.com/oqwiaUxVYV

It’s always awesome to get team-wide updates like this on so many key players. What are your thoughts or questions you have at the conclusion of FanFest as we head towards Spring Training? What information were you most excited to learn?
FanFest 2019 Coverage!
I care about infield defense, so consequently, I do not believe Max Muncy is the answer at second base.
