Dodgers: Kiké Hernandez Prepped Justin Turner’s Bat Before 3-Homer Game
On Tuesday night, Justin Turner had one of the most incredible games of his storied Dodgers career. Turner homered three times at Dodger Stadium, and Los Angeles defeated the Braves 9-0.

Undoubtedly, this is one of those games you remember during a long season. It doesn’t fade after years in the memory bank.
Now, Turner tells AM570 LA Sports that Kiké Hernandez had an assist in the blasts. Furthermore, Hernandez had the honors of prepping Turner’s lumber prior to the game.
.@Dodgers @redturn2 on @kikehndez: "He grabbed my bat and he said is this your gamer? I'm going to get it ready for tonight. He got it all nice and shiny then said 'alright it is ready to go.' Then I hit three home runs." https://t.co/mazuNpfkUj

Indeed, it sounds like Hernandez has a real future as a bat boy when his playing days are behind him.
“We were in the cages before the game and he grabbed my bat and he said is this your gamer? He said I’m going to prepare it and get it ready for tonight. He got some tape remover and cleaned the barrel off and got it all nice and shiny and he said “alright it is ready to go”. Then I hit three home runs.”
As usual, Hernandez had a joke for everyone to grin about on social media. On his personal twitter account, Hernandez put up this tweet on Wednesday afternoon:
I needed him to have more homers than @buehlersdayoff!! https://t.co/izvlP2NBKE

While Hernandez poked some fun at his teammate, Turner has reclaimed his season offensively. After the three-run rampage against Atlanta, Turner now has a .302 average, .825 OPS, and a fighter’s chance at 20 home runs when the season ends.
Equally important, Turner just looks like himself again. There’s nothing a player can do to chase stats from games that have passed. Baseball is like life in that fashion. However, Turner could point towards his long-time teammate for a rallying his 2019 season.
I like it when you do an article on last nights game. I don’t take the newspaper anymore and I miss having that report every morning plus I don’t get the games on tv. Maybe you and a couple of the other writers could alternate if you aren’t able to do it everyday. Whaadya think?
