As the Los Angeles Dodgers dominated the Milwaukee Brewers in a 4-0 sweep of the NLCS and advanced to their second World Series in as many years, utility star Kiké Hernández sent a clear message regarding his intentions.
As one might guess, especially given Hernández’ increased production when the calendar flips to October, he is far from satisfied with simply making it back to the Fall Classic.

“This is going to be my fifth (World Series), and I was on the wrong end of two,” Hernández said. “And when you’re on the wrong end of these series, especially when you get all the way to the end, it’s not a good feeling. I remember what it felt like when we got there, and then we lost, so after losing two, you get to the point where you’re like, ‘All right, I’m not necessarily complacent or happy yet, till we do what we’re trying to do.’”
Hernández was with the Dodgers for the 2017 and 2018 pennant years that ended with brutal losses, but won it all in 2020 with LA. After a brief stint with the Boston Red Sox, he returned for another World Series win in 2024.
“The goal is not to play in the World Series. The goal is to win it,” Hernández said. “And we’ve been talking about, since day one, that if we don’t win the World Series, this season is a failure. We have to win four more games before we lose four, then we accomplish something pretty special.”
The first back-to-back champions in MLB in a quarter-century is certainly pretty special, but all Hernández and the Dodgers are focused on is the next four wins.

Duh… Semi useless statement.. Would rather hear his thoughts on why, after playing ball for 20 + years, they all chase balls WAY out of the zone & take straight fastball right down broadway… Are they guessing too much, are they fooled, are they overpowered ?? Why take first pitch right in happy zone, do they think they will get a better pitch to hit ? Too many swing for home runs & settle for 100+ strikeouts & .200 is battling average. BOO. PS: Stop all the stupid hot dog crap, be a little humble.
This moment in sports 10 ks 3 dingers is missing Scully what a shame………
Screw the Dodgers. Except for Mookie and Freeman, they are all egomaniacs! Go Blue Jays!!!
I love my Dodgers and they will take it all. Screw all the haters, Dodgers

I think you have the Dodgers mixed up with the Padres.
Kike is the heart and soul of the Dodger. He speaks truth.
