The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially revealed their lineup for the team’s win-or-go-home NLDS Game 5 against the San Diego Padres.
Here’s the lineup Dave Roberts and the Dodgers are sending out to try to keep their season alive:
- Shohei Ohtani, DH
- Mookie Betts, RF
- Freddie Freeman, 1B
- Teoscar Hernández, LF
- Max Muncy, 3B
- Will Smith, C
- Gavin Lux, 2B
- Kiké Hernández, CF
- Tommy Edman, SS
The biggest question is who would be in center field. That has been answered, as the team is going with Kiké Hernández in a must-win game. Hernández is 2-for-6 this postseason, and went 2-for-4 in Wednesday’s big 8-0 win.
Dodgers vs Padres Pitching Matchup
As for the pitchers, it will be Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs. Yu Darvish in Game 5.
Yamamoto struggled in Game 1 of this series, allowing five earned runs on five hits with two walks and just one strikeout across three innings. Conversely, Darvish dominated the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in Game 2, allowing just one earned run on three hits across seven innings of work.
This pitching matchup makes history as the first game in postseason history between two Japanese-born starting pitchers.
