Dodgers Lineup vs Angels: Tommy Edman Returns, Kiké Hernández Starts
The Los Angeles Dodgers look to get back in the win column Sunday after losing the first two games of the Freeway Series.
Dodgers star Tommy Edman is returning to the lineup and will play at centerfield in his first start back with the team. Edman was activated off the injured list after dealing with a right ankle injury for the last few weeks.
Max Muncy is out of Sunday’s lineup, and instead, Kiké Hernández will play at the hot corner.
Here’s the full Dodgers lineup that will face Angels left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the mound:
- Shohei Ohtani, DH
- Mookie Betts, SS
- Will Smith, C
- Freddie Freeman, 1B
- Andy Pages, RF
- Tommy Edman, CF
- Kiké Hernández, 3B
- Michael Conforto, LF
- Miguel Rojas, 2B
Tony Gonsolin will be on the mound Sunday afternoon for the Dodgers. The right-hander has a 2.81 ERA and 1.063 WHIP across three starts this season.

Should have started Kim at 2B and Rushing in LF. Conforto is useless.
Agree with OhioDodger about Conforto. He needs to be gone. When he came up with bases loaded and 2 outs Saturday in the 8th, I knew it wouldn’t matter. Why did they even sign him? That they kept him over equally anemic Taylor, who at least has a history and meant something to LA, is puzzling. Pathetic.
And awesome line up…only to be swept **AT HOME** by the Angels. THE ANGELS???? That’s really pathetic.
Yeah, agree with you on everything. I’ve stuck with Conforto, hoping that he would suddenly turn it around, but I’m done with that now, especially since,as you said, at least CT3 had that long history with the team; in that bases-loaded spot, at least Taylor could execute a bunt if Roberts would ever invest in “small ball”. Will Roberts ever try Rushing in left? No, probably not because he has to be one of the most stubborn managers the team has ever seen…until it’s too late.
As usual, the Dodger pitching staff is, to use the same word as Mike H, pathetic. I find it so frustrating that the Dodgers do not realize that their “system” concerning pitching is not working; nor has it worked for years. The argument from the Dodgers stand point of view is that injuries occur in sports. That is a valid point. However, when it happens as often as it does for the Dodgers, it may be time to examine there entire pitching philosophy. This includes starting at the low minor leagues and examining how to prepare pitchers for the “long haul”. Also, it is a concern that they seem to sign too many pitchers with arm trouble. That is not a training problem but that is a front office problem. I would not trade the Dodger’s “brass” for any front office in any sport. However, as with any business, there is room for improvement.
