What the heck is wrong with the Dodgers offense? So much for the all-star break. We’re 2-8 in our last 10 games. This team is uninspired and inept.
Could not have said it better, Scott. Too many folks here want to blame their offensive woes on Muncy’s injury, but that’s just weak excuses IMO. They had 3 hits last night. 3. That’s not due to Muncy. Other teams step up when they lose a player, why can’t the Dodgers? I mean, while he was batting .160 or so for the first two months of the season, the Dodgers finished May with a 36 – 22 record. They’re 22 – 18 since, and that includes their best stretch of the season where they went 17 – 5. That means 5 – 13 in the other games. That is not acceptable for this team.
BTW, two teams have gone worse than 2 – 8 in their last 10: Washington and Pittsburgh. No one else is 2 – 8 in their last 10. Even the Rockies, by far the worst team in MLB, are 3 – 7 in their last 10. Sigh.
It’s looking like Muncy might be back much sooner than expected, but to your point, the bats have been inexcusable lately. It shouldn’t just depend on one guy, regardless of how good he was getting before the injury.
Team look so lethargic and unexciting. How’s about shaking up the batting order. Maybe that would motivate some of them in different roles in the line-up. Play some small ball and situational hitting with those that can run and bunt. Too much swinging for the fences and playing for the 3-run homer. Glasnow pitch well enough last night to win but the offense sucked. Try moving guys around and see what happens…..nothing like trying something different to excite the team and fans. Milwaukee surely doing a number them.
