Good things happen for practically any sports franchise when considerable investment takes place.
It was announced by the team’s official X account Sunday that the Los Angeles Dodgers broke the four million mark in attendance for the first time in franchise history. This historic number occurred in correspondence with Sunday being the final regular season home game of the year.
On average, nearly 50,000 fans attended each game — an absolutely monstrous number considering Dodger Stadium holds 56,000 (the largest ballpark in the Major Leagues). Chase Field in Phoenix is the second-largest in terms of capacity registering at 48,330.
This means that on average, the Dodgers had more people attend each of their games than the absolute max amount for any other stadium in the sport.

Another set of statistics to consider include context. This year’s team is the 10th in the history of the league to hit that mark, and the first to do so in nearly 20 years. The franchise as a whole has also led the league in attendance in 12 of the past 13 seasons.
This speaks immensely to two things: the unabated love the city of Los Angeles has for its baseball team and also the commitment to winning by ownership.
The stadium has undergone a heavy facelift over the last few years to improve the consumer experience. The stadium still holds a retro vibe, though has been fitted with modern touches. It’s a far more family-friendly venue all the way around from food choices to non-baseball activities kids can participate in on the grounds.
In terms of the ownership group, we’ve seen a total commitment to winning. Perhaps the biggest example of that was inking Shohei Ohtani to a $700 million contract (among other moves made to improve the roster).
The ownership group continues to foster a culture of success at the highest level, and that doesn’t appear to be waining anytime soon. Given the amount of people coming to support this ballclub, the satisfaction level would appear to be ridiculously high.
