Dodgers Make Roster Move Ahead of Friday’s Game vs Cardinals

The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski and optioned right-hander pitcher Landon Knack ahead of Friday’s series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals. The team announced the roster move Friday morning.

Wrobleski is expected to get the start against the Cardinals Friday as manager Dave Roberts revealed that would be the case the day prior.

The Dodgers were deciding whether Friday’s contest would be a bullpen game or spot starter; however, Knack went just 3.1 innings against the New York Mets Thursday so the decision was essentially made for the team.

Wrobleski’s last outing in Triple-A wasn’t ideal as he gave up five earned runs across four innings pitched. He has a 5.09 ERA with 27 strikeouts and 1.60 WHIP across eight starts with Oklahoma City this season.

The southpaw has made two Major League starts for the Dodgers in 2025. Wrobleski’s last start with the big league team was encouraging as he allowed no runs and just one hit across four innings against the Athletics.

Wrobleski has a 8.00 ERA with eight strikeouts and 1.333 WHIP across nine innings pitched in the majors this season. The left-hander’s first start of the season was ugly as he allowed eight earned runs in five frames.

Due to so many injuries, Knack has become a familiar face in the Dodgers rotation this season. The right-hander has a 5.12 ERA with 35 strikeouts and 1.474 WHIP across seven Major League starts. He will likely return to the big league team soon.

  1. This is the worst rotation in MLB. Yamamoto and May are the only reliable starters. Hard to find any hidden gems at this point.

    1. This is definitely not the rotation the Dodgers expected to have at the start of the year…
