The Dodgers designated outfielder Michael Siani for assignment. LA claimed the 26-year-old off waivers from the Atlanta Braves in December.
Siani is a defensive specialist in the outfield, and the Dodgers had parted ways with Justin Dean weeks prior. Dean had filled a similar role for LA, and it appeared the Dodgers had essentially found his replacement with Siani.
In 2025, Siani played 19 big league games for the St. Louis Cardinals before the organization DFA’d him. The Braves then claimed the outfielder in early November, but he was once again DFA’d once Atlanta signed Mike Yastrzemski.
Siani batted .235 with a .551 OPS across 19 MLB games with the Cardinals last season. In 2024, Siani had a bigger role in St. Louis. As the team’s starting center fielder, Siani averaged .228 across 124 games. Living up to his reputation as a defensive specialist, Siani recorded 16 outs above average in 2024.

He was originally drafted by the Houston Astros with the fifth overall pick in the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of Henry B. Plant High School in Tampa.
The Dodgers will have an introductory press conference for Tucker at 11: a.m. in the Dodgers Interview Room.
With the addition of Tucker, the Dodgers’ 40-man roster is full. If LA makes any additional signings, a corresponding roster move will have to be made in order to make room. However, once the 60-day injured list opens up this spring, the Dodgers will be able to move players accordingly.
