Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave an injury update on utility man Kiké Hernandez ahead of the Dodgers’ NLCS matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Roberts said Hernandez is healthy, and the extra few days they got off after their NLDS win helped him recover. Hernandez limped around in the box in the 11th inning of Game 4 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
This update is great news for the Dodgers as Hernandez has played in every game this postseason, and has been a key contributor on both offense and defense.

Hernandez is 7-for-22 at the plate for a .318 average, and has an OPS of .809. He has recorded a hit in all of the Dodgers’ postseason games but one so far.
The veteran struggled with injury earlier in the postseason as well, leaving Game 1 of the Wild Card series with an apparent back injury.
The Dodgers could make the decision to give Hernandez some extra rest during the NLCS should his condition worsen, in which case they would likely turn to Max Muncy and Alex Call, who would start at third base and in left field respectively. They’ll hope that’s not the case though, as Hernandez has proven himself as an important part of this team.

President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman spoke about Hernandez and the important role he plays ahead of the postseason.
“I think we’ve all seen the level of focus and energy that Kiké brings, especially in October, big factor in wanting to bring him back this offseason,” Friedman said.
“He’s had a good little run here lately and feels like his swing’s in a better spot. And his ability to kind of slow things down and take what the pitcher gives and then also add really good defense on top of it is something we felt really comfortable betting on.”

It’s LAD strategy and assignment serious whereas its exciting and interesting with our players and the opponents players. What game plan mode each and everyone of the players are in makes us win or lose?
This version of the Dodgers has been the best I’ve seen since becoming a fan during Fernandomania. I credit Roberts for laying out this positive attitude, like a real dad to his sons. They work together cohesively, respect the teams that they beat and are great role models to the future baseball players out there. With all the athleticism and greatness they possess, they still manage to be gentlemen of the highest order!
