Dodgers: Max Muncy Exits Game Early With Apparent Injury

With the Dodgers finally getting back to full health, the last thing you want to see is guys going down with injuries. So fans had to hold their breath during Friday night’s game after Max Muncy was suddenly pulled from the lineup.

Muncy grounded into a double play that he tried to leg out against the Braves. The Dodgers replaced him on defense at first base the following inning. Matt Beaty came on in his spot to finish out the innings of defense and Pujols pinch-hit for him in the 5th.

The team later revealed that Muncy had come out of the game due to pain in his right ankle. It’s not clear on the double play or on a slide into second earlier in the game. But the hope for the Dodgers is that it is nothing more than that and it was just a precaution.

Muncy has been playing out of his mind in the first half of the Dodgers season. In fact, many believe that he could be starting first base for the National League All-Star team in Colorado this Summer.

Overall, Muncy is slashing .268/.428/.536 with a .964 OPS in his 54 games. He also has 13 homeruns and has driven in 30 runs for the Dodgers early on. Max leads MLB in walks with a ridiculous 45 so far.
