Dodgers: Max Muncy Returns to the Lineup After Injury Scare

The Dodgers will head into Pittsburgh tonight with their good lineup back. Los Angeles had to pivot over the final 2 days in Atlanta after Max Muncy injured his ankle on Friday. The potential All-Star was removed from the game and did not play on Saturday or Sunday.

The good news is that Muncy is back in the Dodgers lineup on Tuesday. After a few days off to rest his sore ankle, Muncy sounds like he is ready to go. And that’s very good for a Los Angeles offense that has struggled with consistency.

Muncy is listed as the starting first baseman tonight facing off against the Pirates. He will be going up against a good right-handed pitcher in JT Brubaker who has a pretty good pitch playing in his second big league season.

Muncy and Austin Barnes both had scary moments involving ankles over the weekend. Barnes stepped awkwardly on the base at first beating out a grounder and limped down the baseline. He eventually stayed in the game and the Dodgers did not send him to the IL.

Muncy will play today but the Dodgers have already said that he will not play on Wednesday. Los Angeles will go with Albert Pujols at first base and Max will return to first base again during Thursday’s game.
