Since coming over to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023 for his second stint with the franchise, Miguel Rojas has been an invaluable role player for the ballclub.
The Venezuelan infielder has been somewhat of a coach on the field. He’s among the most respected players on the roster given his willingness to do whatever the team asks of him.

Defensively, he’s been an above-average performer. Though he’s not known for his bat, Rojas has been better than adequate — hitting .260 over the course of three seasons. The 36-year-old has gotten some timely hits both in the the regular season and in the postseason. Rojas has also made it no secret that he’d love to be a manager one day.
Based on how current skipper Dave Roberts values his acumen and character, there’s a great chance the man they call “Miggy Ro” will get an opportunity to lead his own ballclub down the line.
Rojas recently had an exclusive interview with Doug McKain of Dodgers Nation. The veteran touched on several interesting topics over the course of the conversation. One of them included his willingness and desire to re-sign with the Dodgers once the season ends.
“I’m excited to give it another chance to win another World Series and to hopefully play another year for the Dodgers,” Rojas said to Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain. “This is going to be my first priority to sign with the Dodgers for one more year. I want to do that. And after that we’ll reevaluate where my career is going to do.”

Given how much the franchise values team chemistry, it would make sense that Rojas is brought back in some capacity. The ‘some capacity’ involves the reality that an aging team wants to get younger — and it’ll come to a point where Alex Freeman needs to get a longer runway to determine whether he has a real future with the team or not. There’s also the reality that Hyeseong Kim, a player with a far higher upside, could be blocked by a Rojas return.
These are all considerations to take into account as the team aims to morph accordingly moving forward.
