Dodgers Minor League News: OKC is Headed to PCL Finals

The Dodgers have been tearing it up as of late. They currently sit in first place, 3 games in front of the Giants. The rookies, such as Julio Urias, Andrew Toles, and Brock Stewart, have been absolutely phenomenal in adding spark to the team. To top it off, Clayton Kershaw and Andre Ethier have finally returned to the Dodgers! With all of this taking place in the majors, you might think it would be easy to overlook the minors. Well, you’d be wrong!

On Sunday, the OKC Dodgers, the Triple-A affiliate of Los Angeles, beat the Nashville Sounds and became the American Conference Champions! The next stop is now the Pacific Coast League Championship game!

The game was pretty intense through the entire 9 innings. It began with OKC getting a 3-0 lead thanks to a 2-run double by Chris Taylor and a sac fly by Cody Bellinger! The Dodgers and the Sounds would go back and forth all night until the top of the 8th inning.

OKC was down by a couple of runs, but runners were on first and second with O’Koyea Dickson up to bat. In what could be the most clutch at bat of his life, Dickson sent a line drive over the left field wall for 3 runs! That would be enough for the Dodgers and they would take the game, 10-9!

OKC will head to El Paso, Texas to face the Chihuahuas for the Pacific Coast League Championship in a best of 5 series. We here at Dodgers Nation wish them nothing but luck, but with players like O’Koyea Dickson, Cody Bellinger, and Corey Brown, something tells me they will be just fine!
