Cordero spent three seasons in the Dominican Summer League before finally making his way over to the states in 2013, hitting .272 in 36 games for the Arizona League Dodgers. This season, he got a late start with the Loons but has hit the ground running, batting .432 in 11 games. The 22-year-old Venezuelan played catcher earlier in his career but is now primarily a first baseman. He’ll have to continue to rake in order to move up the prospect ladder.
