Sure, it wasn’t the best outing, but the end was just too good to pass up. The Lookouts came back from an early deficit to take a 6-4 lead in the fifth. Unfortunately, the Baybears scored a pair of runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game. It would remain tied until the bottom of the 10th, when, with two outs, Daniel Mayora doubled.
The Baybears intentionally walked the next two batters and load the bases to face reliever Juan Noriega, who had pitched a pair of shutout innings. The move would backfire on Mobile when the 5’7 pitcher drew a walk-off walk. Who would have thought that a pitcher who intentionally walked two batters would walk a third?
