Player of the Day – Michael Medina
Medina, one of the club’s top international signings from a year ago, was aggressively promoted to the Arizona League from the Dominican Summer League. He continues to show a power/power profile as your prototypical right fielder, but hasn’t made much progress in terms of making contact, as evidenced by his 40 strikeouts in 26 games.
The 17 year old batted .290 in July with a 1.050 OPS. Also of note, Erisbel Arruebarrena has begun his five-game suspension following the benches clearing brawl he started.
