Dodgers’ Mookie Betts Reveals Mind-Blowing Golf Handicap

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar shortstop Mookie Betts revealed his mid-blowing golf handicap.

While at the MW Phoenix Open last week, Betts revealed that he is currently playing at an incredible 2.8 handicap.

The 33-year-old superstar is not only elite on the diamond but also on the course. The four-time World Series champion can do it all when it comes to athletics, and golf is no exception.

Betts was asked when he has time to hit the course, and he joked, saying, “Eight days a week. I drop the kids off at school and go to the golf course, and then, I come home at some point.”

The eight-time All-Star added, “I’m a member at Lakeside, so I’m there pretty much eight days a week.”

Mookie Betts talks to his caddie on the fifth green of the Stadium Course during round one of the American Express PGA golf tournament in La Quinta, Calif., on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026.

Betts describes his golf game as aiming for the middle, short, and straight, often preferring a left draw.

The former MVP showed off his golf skills at the famous 16th hole at the WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale. It’s one of the more famous holes on the PGA Tour for its fully enclosed design and its loud, stadium-like atmosphere when golfers take their swings.

Betts took his chances at the hole known as “The Coliseum,” and he fared really well, nearly recording a birdie.

Betts has improved his game like no other, taking lessons from PGA Tour winner Maverick McNealy. The right-handed batter credited his improvement to McNealy and revealed what he had taught him.

“He’s teaching me about the grain and how it works. I mean, I kind of knew common sense about the grain, but I think now that I’m in the 2.8 range, knowing the grain will probably get me down to – my goal is to get to scratch.”

Can Mookie Betts Do His Part to Lead the Dodgers to a Three-Peat?

The four-time MLB first team member is ready to do his part to lead the Dodgers to a third consecutive title. Betts struggled last season at the plate, recording a .258 average, his lowest since arriving in L.A. The power was also not there as he recorded a .406 slugging percentage, the lowest of his career.

Still, Betts has plenty left in the tank, and as long as he plays average to above-average, the Dodgers will be just fine.
