Betts revealed to reporters — including Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic — that he popped his head into the office to reiterate how good he feels about his swing.

Betts said it’s not the first time he’s gone into Roberts’ office after a game — and Friedman happened to be there since he’s with the team on this road trip.

While there were questions about whether Betts’ meeting with the higher-ups of the Dodgers was related to his spot on defense, it appears it was just a casual conversation.

The timing of the meeting was interesting, as it came after the Dodgers lost a game in which right fielder Teoscar Hernandez misplayed multiple balls in the outfield — the second of which ultimately led to the walk-off hit that ended the game.

Betts transitioned to shortstop full time this year, and has been an above average defender at the position. While he was mired in a season-long slump, he appears to finally be breaking out of it, hitting .333 with two home runs, nine RBIs and an OPS of .889 over his last 12 games.
