Dodgers: Mookie Betts Scratched From Lineup With Illness

The Dodgers had their lineups out early prior to Friday evenings’ matchup but had to make an adjustment. Dave Roberts pulled Mookie Betts out of the lineup after he reported feeling sick to his stomach.

From the sound of it, it’s nothing too serious for Mookie. The Dodgers will know more on Saturday morning before they decide to play Betts against the Rockies.

For Mookie, he’s had a decent spring in his first season with Los Angeles. Mostly utilized in the leadoff spot, Mookie is 5 for 19 with one extra-base hit. Mookie has also yet to strike out in Spring Training.

Dodgers’ Injury Updates

  • Joc Pederson started up baseball activities during Friday’s workout. The left-handed outfielder has yet to play in a game this spring dealing with side soreness.
  • Chris Taylor will continue to nurse a sore arm after he was hit by a pitch and experienced discomfort from a check swing. The Dodgers made him day-to-day with lingering soreness.
  • Dustin May started throwing for the first time since experiencing soreness a few weeks back. May has also yet to appear in a Spring Training game for the Dodgers.

Los Angeles will take on Colorado on Saturday, with David Price getting his second start of Cactus League play.
