Dodgers News: 2 New SportsNet LA Episodes Tonight

LOS ANGELES, CA – SportsNet LA, the exclusive 24/7 TV network of the Los Angeles Dodgers, today announced the network will debut new episodes of Backstage: Dodgers – the network’s weekly behind the scenes documentary series – and its in-depth interview series Connected With… starting at 8:00 p.m. PT tonight.

Leading off the programming block at 8:00 p.m. PT is Backstage: Dodgers, which provides fans with unique, inside access to the team all season long. Backstage: Dodgers episodes will debut every Thursday all season long. SportsNet LA will also debut a new episode of its in-depth interview series Connected With… at 8:30 p.m. PT

On tonight’s Backstage: Dodgers episode, the program will bring viewers the latest news from spring training, including a special feature on manager Dave Roberts as he invites former player and manager Maury Wills to Camelback Ranch as a special instructor. The piece intimately reflects on Roberts and Wills relationship, as Wills mentored and instructed Roberts during his time as a player.

Tonight’s Connected With… episode will feature hosts John Hartung and Jerry Hairston, Jr. sitting down with Dodgers infielders Chase Utley, Adrian Gonzalez, Corey Seager and Justin Turner.

Hairston’s revealing interview with Adrian Gonzalez included the first baseman opening up about the urgency to win the World Series in the next few seasons, his ability to remain consistent and how boxing helps him keep in shape during the offseason.

Hartung caught up with Utley to discuss what the Dodgers will need to do to take the next step in the postseason, why he signed with the Dodgers, what he envisions his role is on this year’s team, his health this season as compared to 2015 and his thoughts of MLB’s new base running rule.

In addition, Hairston sat down with Seager and Turner.

In addition, tonight’s episode also highlights the final stages ofJustin Turner’s return from having microfracture surgery on his left knee – the first surgery of his professional career. The piece offers viewers a behind the scenes look as he begins his first game action of the spring.  Also featured in this episode is a behind the scenes piece on Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethierhaving his jersey added to Arizona State University baseball team’s Wall of Honor in a ceremony before an ASU baseball game in February.  Ethier joins other ex-ASU greats such as Rick Monday, Barry Bonds and Reggie Jackson on the famed wall.
