Dodgers News: Adrian Gonzalez Expected Back Saturday
The Los Angeles Dodgers received some good news when Manager Dave Roberts announced Adrian Gonzalez will return to the starting lineup on Saturday. The Dodgers begin a 3-game series vs. the Padres on Friday with pitcher Scott Kazmir on the mound.
Gonzalez left Monday’s game vs. the Angels with lower back tightness and missed the last three games.
Win an Authentic Corey Seager Jersey: DETAILSGonzo missing games is rare. In fact, after being left out of the lineup vs. the Angels on Thursday it was the first time since 2005 that he missed three consecutive games.
Since start of 2006, Adrian Gonzalez has not started in 3 straight games just 3 times:
May 3-6, 2006 (4 games)
May 3-5, 2013
May 17-19, 2016— Eric Stephen (@ericstephen) May 19, 2016
Gonzo will return to the starting lineup on Saturday, but this means he will miss four straight games for the first time since 2006. According to L.A. Times writer Bill Shaikin, in the last 10 seasons Agon has played at least 156 games.
