Dodgers News: Alex Wood Expects to Return This Weekend
The Dodgers second ace of 2017 is now expecting to make his return against the Cincinnati Reds this weekend in Los Angeles.
Alex wood was placed on the disabled list due to SC joint inflammation after his start against the Chicago Cubs on May 26. Even though he was apparently pitching through an injury, he managed to shut out the defending champs over the course of five innings, lowering his ERA to 1.69.
Days ago, Alanna Rizzo said that Wood would be unlikely to make an appearance for the Nationals series but the series against the Reds seemed more likely.
.@Awood45 will miss his next start. #Nationals series not likely. Targeting #Reds series for start.

As of Tuesday June 6, he is scheduled to throw an extended bullpen session on Wednesday and expects to return to the Dodgers’ rotation against the Reds over the weekend.

The Dodgers are in need of the consistency on the mound that they were getting from Alex Wood as they have showed their struggles without him taking the mound every fifth day.
