Dodgers News And Rumors: Barney Enjoying Change Of Pace
When a player is traded from a team with a losing record, to a playoff contender, it can serve as a breath of fresh air. Second baseman Darwin Barney was the Los Angeles Dodgers first mid-season acquisition and he’s naturally noticed a change in the expectations since leaving the Chicago Cubs.
In his first return to Chicago since being traded, Barney had an opportunity to reflect on the change. One difference Barney pointed to was losing track of the end of the regular season as the Dodgers are bound for the postseason.
Barney also marveled at the talent on the team and called Clayton Kershaw the best pitcher he’s seen. Kershaw wasn’t at his best Friday, but the Dodgers managed to win a second straight game against the Cubs.
Barney has yet to play in either of the first two games and has two more games remaining to take the field while no longer wearing the home team’s uniform.
